Business Licenses

Certain types of businesses require a license in order to operate within the Town of Belmont. These licenses are issued per vote by the Select Board annually, however the applications are obtained and filed at the office of the Town Clerk.

Each License is valid for one year maximum, expiring on the date noted below, regardless of when the application is filed or approved.

Note: Extended Hours Permit is Required by Belmont Bylaw §60-900 (F) for Business with operating hours before 6 am or after 11 pm.

Any business that has already been approved for a business license by the Select Board may also apply for an Entertainment License (see below), per MGL Ch. 140, Section 183A, if the entertainment will be incorporated into the operation of the licensed business.
