The Parking Clerk is appointed by the Select Board.

Most payments may be made by personal check or cash. Please do not mail cash. If the parking violation has been marked for non-renewal at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, payments must me made by bank check, Money Order, or cash. Payments for violations are due within 21 days after the violation was written to avoid added fees and possible non-renewable status at the Registry of Motor Vehicles. If you wish to contest a violation, you must do so in writing within 21 days of the violation.

Please mail payments to:

Town of Belmont-Parking Clerk
PO Box 56
Belmont, MA  02478

and include your car's registration (license plate) and the violation number on the check. Payments may also be left in the Town's payment drop box at 19 Moore Street, or submitted in person at 19 Moore Street during office hours.

Issues related to traffic and parking are typically referred to the Police Department and the Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC). The TAC is comprised of local residents who meet on a monthly basis. Traffic concerns may be brought to the attention of the Police Department at 617-993-2500 or the Community Development Department at 617-993-2650.

This information is printed on every violation: "A hearing may be obtained upon written request within 21 days by the registered owner, or may be disputed by mail if submitted with supporting documentation. Failure to obey this notice within twenty-one days after the date of violation will result in the non-renewal of the license to drive (Mass.G.L. Ch. 90 Sec. 20A1/2-20E) and may also subject motor vehicle to tow and hold provisions of Chapter 253 of the Acts of 1973."

Contested violations should be sent to the address above. Please complete the contested violation form using the link to your left and send in the required documentation.
