• • Recently many Belmont residents have received a letter from HomeServe USA Repair Management Corp. indicating that they are not covered by Water Service Line Coverage from HomeServe.

HomeServe is a legitimate company and is sending letters out to residents in the Boston area to offer an "insurance policy" in case of a water service line failure.  The Water Division repairs all water service line failures from the water main to the property line at no cost to the property owner.  The property owners however, are responsible for any repairs to their service line if the event of a service line failure.  The Water Division currently offers service line repairs at a minimal cost to the property owner if a service line failure occurs.  These repairs are for residential properties only.  Any repairs to commercial property water services are the sole responsibility of the property owner.  The Water Division upon request will provide a list of approved water line repair contractors.   If you have any questions regarding these letters please call the Water Division at 617-993-2700.
