The Belmont Department of Public Works includes several divisions that provide many services to the Town of Belmont:

 

Highway Division

Parks & Cemetery Division

Water Division

Recreation Division

Trash and Recycling Information

Winter Weather Information

 

 

ADMINISTRATION: This program provides central administrative services for all fifteen major Public Works programs as detailed in each Division page.  These services include policy, planning, administration, budget, capital equipment and projects, contracts, personnel, customer service as well as the allocation and coordination of resources.

2017 Water Main Improvements

​Winter Street will be closed starting Tuesday April 25, 2017 Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm until further notice.

Construction is scheduled to begin on Winter Street (Concord Ave to Belmont Country Club entrance) the week of April 17, 2017 (weather permitting).  Construction will take place Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm.  The Water Division will work to minimize the effect of construction operations in your neighborhood as much as possible but please be aware that you may experience travel delays when construction is in progress.

 

On August 12, 2016, the state issued a Drought Warning for Central and Northeast Massachusetts, a Drought Watch for Southeastern Massachusetts and the Connecticut River Valley, and a Drought Advisory for Western Massachusetts. Many customers are unsure what that means for our service area.

While the Quabbin Reservoir remains within normal operating range for this time of year, it is always important to practice water conservation wherever possible, particularly during long dry spells such as this. Here are some links to water saving tips you can share with your customers:
