MBTA Proposed Wi-Fi Improvement Plan/ Thayer Road

Please see the link below to a Presentation on July 31 before the MBTA Fiscal and Management Control Board regarding the proposed Wi-Fi Improvement Plan.  The Plan includes installing 74 ft. tall monopole towers along the MBTA commuter rail lines within MBTA’s existing right-of-way.  In Belmont, this Plan includes installing one monopole behind 33-39 Thayer Road.  The 30-Day Review period that was scheduled to conclude on July 31 was extended until August 14, 2017.

The Board of Selectmen agrees with the concerns expressed by the Belmont Historic District Commission on the potential impacts on the neighborhoods and properties within the Town that may be affected by the installation of the 74 ft. tall monopole.

Please contact the MBTA Fiscal and Management Control Board, Governor Baker, Secretary of Transportation, Senator Will Brownsberger, and Representative Dave Rogers to share your concerns on this proposal.
