Tree Summit a Cross-Pollination of Ideas

Remote Participation
Event Date:
Tuesday, March 12, 2024 - 7:30pm

This Tuesday evening, the Mystic Charles Pollinator Pathways Group is hosting a Tree Summit (via Zoom) and Belmont's Eva Hoffman is one of the speakers.

Please attend and/or spread the word! The event, called “Tree Summit a Cross-Pollination of Ideas” is a chance to hear about a variety of tree - saving/tree - promoting activities happening in several Eastern MA communities.

Amy Meltzer will open the presentation with an update on State legislation re: trees. She will be followed by lightning rounds from speakers from Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Newton, Watertown, Wellesley & Winchester who will share initiatives — town ordinances, tree incentive programs, tree-tagging with I-tree software, fast forests, educational outreach, etc. — that groups are implementing to save trees, increase native plantings, and boost canopies.

After that we will open the floor to hear about other initiatives and discuss ways to build support for keeping/planting trees.
