On Wednesday, June 12, 2013 members of the Belmont Police and Fire Departments gathered at the Beech Street Center to recognize their accomplishments over the past two years. Surrounded by family members, friends, and Town Officials, members of both departments and one citizen recieved awards for actions that contributed to the overall safety of the community. In addition four members of the Police Department were recognized for their recent promotions to new ranks within the Department. The event, which has become a bi-annual tradition, fell just a few short weeks after Belmont first responders joined colleagues from around the region to respond to the Marathon Tragedy and its aftermath in neighboring Watertown.
The Police and Fire Departments would like to thank long time Belmont Resident, Mr. Carl F. Barron and his family for their support of the Departments. Mr. Barron has been a longtime supporter of Public Safety and has made this award ceremony possible.
