Commemorative Shade Tree Planting Program
The Town of Belmont is proud to announce its Commemorative Shade Tree Planting Program. Any person, business, or group may sponsor a tree. Honor a friend or family member, celebrate a birth, graduation, wedding, or any event that has a special place in your heart. Donations in memory of a loved one are accepted. Scout Troops, organizations, and businesses can sponsor a tree too!
Your sponsorship contribution of $500 will pay for the tree along with its planting, maintenance, and a plate on the commemorative plaque (located in Belmont's Town Hall & Website).
*Trees planted in public way will be the town’s responsibility for ongoing maintenance.
*Please note that the Towns Tree Warden will work with each contributor. There may be some cases that the choice of tree may not be the right fit for the preferred location, in which case the Tree Warden will work with the sponsor to find a suitable location.
Belmont’s publicly owned trees are a capital asset and are as important as our streets, sidewalks, public buildings and recreational facilities. Belmont’s street trees, as well as all public area and forest trees, continually profit the town by working to improve our environment and quality of life.
