Belmont's Annual Town Meeting takes place in the spring, falling on the fifth Monday of April or the first Monday in May, and typically lasts six evenings (General Bylaws Section 30-105).

What is a Representative Town Meeting?

Belmont's government is a Representative Town Meeting, which means that only Town Meeting Members can vote at Town Meeting, unlike the Open Town Meeting form of government. It is crucial that all Town Meeting seats are filled in order to have full representation of each Belmont neighborhood.
