2025 Reminder: A Review of Belmont’s Leaf Blower Control Bylaw
Effective Dates & Seasonal Restrictions
- May 15 – September 30: Commercial landscapers or other commercial entities may not operate any Combustion Leaf Blowers (gas or oil-powered) on any private property in Belmont.
Time-of-Day Restrictions for Combustion Leaf Blowers
- Year-round: No operation of Combustion Leaf Blowers:
- Before 7:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays
- Before 9:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. on Sundays and legal holidays
Responsibility
- Property Owners and/or Property Managers are responsible for ensuring that commercial landscapers comply with the Bylaw.
Service Providers List
- The Town maintains a List of Service Providers who have committed to following the Leaf Blower Control Bylaw. Violations can result in removal from the list.
Upcoming Ban
- Starting January 1, 2026, the use of Combustion Leaf Blowers will be fully prohibited in Belmont, regardless of user or season.
