Electrical Division

The Town of Belmont will only accept the Massachusetts Uniform Application for Electrical work (PDF).

The Electrical Inspector is responsible for enforcing the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2011.

The Electrical Inspector is available during his office hours to answer questions and schedule inspections. Inspections can be scheduled by calling the Electrical Division at 617-993-2661.

Please note that Electrical Permits are issued only to Commonwealth of Massachusetts Licensed Electricians.

New Procedure for Work Authorization from Belmont Light (October 2023)

For new work authorization (WA) from Belmont Light, please complete the Application for Electric Service (fillable form) and email the completed form to Customer Service so that Belmont Light can issue the WA number.
