Proposed McLean Zone 3 Overlay District

A zoning amendment that would allow 150 dwelling units

The Planning Board will be reviewing a proposed zoning amendment to allow up to 150 dwelling units in Zone 3, Senior Living Subdistrict, of the McLean District.  

The proposed amendment includes dividing Zone 3 into 2 subdistricts: Subdistrict A and Subdistrict B.

  • Subdistrict A will include 40, age-restricted, for sale town houses with 2 garage parking spaces/unit.  15% of the dwelling units (6 units) will be affordable to households with 80% area median income (AMI). 
  • Subdistrict B will include 110 family, rental apartments with 1.4 parking spaces/unit.  20% of the dwelling units (22 units) will be affordable to households with 80% AMI and 5% of the units (6 units) will be affordable to households with 50% AMI. .
