Pet Licensing

DUE TO THE UPCOMING PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION,
ISSUING 2024 PET LICENSES HAVE BEEN DELAYED.

Want your dog or cat to be shown on our page? Send us a photo of your pet sporting their new Pet License tag and their name to townclerk@belmont-ma.gov.

Licensing your pet is one of the most important steps you can take as a responsible pet owner. Having your pet licensed makes it easy for animal control officers, police officers, shelters, and veterinary employees to quickly locate a pet’s owner information and to confirm they have current rabies shots. Please remember to pick up after your dog.

Per the Belmont Bylaw 60-200 (A), no more than three dogs can be licensed at a single address. Owners of four or more dogs in Belmont must apply for a personal kennel license and also license each dog with the Town Clerk's office.

The Belmont Off-Leash Program is changing. Contact the Belmont Recreation Department for more info about the Off-Leash Program.

The Animal Control Officer, Suzanne Trasavage can be contacted at (617) 993-2724.
