Dear Town Meeting Members,

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025 there will be a total of three precinct caucuses to fill vacancies due to resignations. All caucuses will be held Belmont Town Hall Auditorium, 455 Concord Avenue. The elected Town Meeting Members will participate in any Special Town Meetings called by the Select Board:

• Precinct 8 – at 6:45 PM, to elect one seat to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of Michael Crowley’s Town Meeting Member/Pct 8 seat;
• Precinct 5 – at 7:15 PM, to elect two seats to fill vacancies caused by the resignations of Laurie and Kristen Cahalane-Petchar; and
• Precinct 2 – at 7:45 PM, to elect two seats to fill vacancies caused by the resignations of John and Suzanne Robotham.

The vacancy will be filled by majority vote of the elected precinct Town Meeting Members present at the caucus. At least eighteen elected Town Meeting Members must be present to make a quorum and take action.

Since the individual will be elected at caucus, they will only serve as Town Meeting Member until the next Annual Town Election, Tuesday, April 7, 2026. More information regarding running for Town Meeting Member can be found on the Town Clerk’s webpage.

The vacancy may be filled by any registered voter of the respective Precinct. Any person interested in running for this seat is encouraged to attend the caucus, but is not required to be present to be nominated or elected.
