2018 Pet Licensing: Forms & Fees

New Pets

If your pet has never been licensed before in Belmont, please supply a Certificate of Rabies Vaccination and a Spay/Neuter Certificate from you pet's veterinarian as well as the Pet License Form and mail to the Town Clerk's office with payment.

The fee for pets that have never been licensed before in Belmont is $12.00 per pet; $9.00 if owner is 60 years of age or older

Alternatively, you may come to the Town Clerk's office and license your pet in person.

 

Renewing a Pet License

Belmont residents may renew their pet license for dogs and cats online here. An up to date rabies vaccination must be on file in the Town Clerk's office in order to renew online.

Alternatively, you may renew your pet's license by printing the Pet License Form and mailing the form, payment and up-to-date Rabies Vaccination Certificate to the Town Clerk's office:

PET LICENSE FEES PER BELMONT BYLAW §60-200:

Neutered / Spayed$12.00 per pet; $9.00 if owner is 60 years of age or older
Unaltered$37.00 per pet; $34.00 if owner is 60 years of age or older
 
 

Rabies Clinic

The Health Department holds a rabies clinic in conjunction with Rabies Education Month every year.

Unlicensed Pet Violations

Failure to license pets will result in a $50.00 non-criminal violation. Failure to vaccinate pets will result in a $100.00 non-criminal violation (per Massachusetts General Laws Ch. 140)
