Significant Buildings and Sites By Location

The Historic Resources Survey was instrumental in assessing the integrity and significance of Belmont's historic buildings. Not all of the inventoried properties have been recommended for Demolition Delay. In fact, the Survey identified that some properties had significantly changed or were simply not as significant as others, which resulted in 36 properties placed on a previous list being omitted from the list of Belmont's Historic Buildings Subject to Demolition Delay. Municipal buildings, such as, the former Leonard St. and Waverley fire stations, and buildings in the McLean Hospital, Pleasant Street, Common Street, and Richardson Farm historic districts are not included.
