This popular swim program is a wonderful opportunity for children interested in competitive swimming to try the sport for the first time and has helped develop youngsters into very talented swimmers throughout past seasons. The Dolphin coaching staff places a tremendous emphasis on skill development in all four competitive strokes. Our belief is that long-term, proper swim technique translates into outstanding swimming performance. In addition to proper mechanics, the program focuses on competition, teamwork and fun. The team is part of the Middlesex League, which consists of 14 teams from around the region. Swim meets are held from December through March usually on Sundays. Though meets are won and lost, our primary emphasis is on personal improvement.
Each time a swimmer improves their time, they are awarded a personal best ribbon. Throughout the season we typically distribute 1,000 of these awards. (Team members have the opportunity to swim all events allowing them to develop speed and skill in all strokes.) Twice weekly workouts are tailored to meet the individual needs of each swimmer.
New members must attend skill test held at the Higginbottom Pool
