RECYCLING TIP OF THE WEEK
08-04-09
Using less water saves a precious resource and saves you money.
Here are some easy ways to decrease your water usage.
By watering your yard only before 8am to reduce evaporation and interference from the wind you can save up to 25 gallons each day
Installing a smart sprinkler controller can save up to 40 gallons a day
Using a broom instead of a hose to clean your driveway and sidewalks can save up to 150 gallons each time
(and using the broom can give you awesome biceps!!)
Checking your sprinkler system for leaks, overspray and broken sprinkler heads can save up to 500 gallons each month
Generous use of mulch (organic, please) around plants to reduce evaporation can save hundreds of gallons per year.
Reduce~~~ Reuse~~~ Recycle
