The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for issuing and enforcing permits under Mass. General Law 148 and 527 CMR (Fire Prevention Regulations). The division also is responsible for :scheduling inspections and following up on any violations found during those inspections; scheduling fire drills; investigating any violations of Mass. General Law 148 or the Mass Fire Prevention Regulations; reviewing building plans for compliance with the fire protection aspects of the Mass State Building Code in cooperation with the Office of Community Development; inspect building
projects for compliance with applicable laws and codes; schedule smoke detector inspections upon sale of real estate in Town in compliance with Mass General Law ch 148, sec. 26F.
