Building Permit Applications and Guidelines
Building an addition, adding a structure of any kind, enlarging your driveway or adding a dormer are just a few instances where a permit is required. Refer to the Town of Belmont Zoning By-Law for information on zoning compliance.

Proposed construction located within a wetlands buffer zone or a riverfront area, as defined by the Wetlands Protection Act, may require Conservation Commission approval. For further information, contact Mary Trudeau  at the Belmont Conservation Commission in the Office of Community Development.

Construction requiring the installation of a new or the replacement of an existing  sanitary sewer or storm drain requires the filing of a Sanitary Sewer and Storm Drain Connection Permit Application form.  Please call the Engineering Division if you have any questions regarding this process.

Listed below are forms required for building permits as well as information on the permitting process.  If you have questions about any of these forms, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Community Development.  Refer to the Zoning Board of Appeals web page for those applicable forms.
