UPCOMING ELECTION TIMETABLES :  


 Special State Elections to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of U.S. Senator John F. Kerry will be held:
Party Primary Elections - TUESDAY,  April 30, 2013
General Election - TUESDAY, June 25, 2013  

Polls open 7 am to 8 pm, please check polling locations above.  The deadline to register to vote or to change voter registration information and qualify to vote in this election is April 10, 2013 for the Primary, June 5, 2013 for the General Election both ending at 8 pm.

For those voters qualifiying for absentee ballots:  In- person absentee voting will be available at the Town Clerk's Office, typcially for the three weeks preceding the election once ballots have been received.  Absentee ballot applications must be received by the Town Clerk by Noon, Monday, April 29, 2013 for the Primary, and Noon,June 24, 2013 for the General Election. For the Primary Elections, Unenrolled (Independent) voters must select a party ballot when applying for absentee voting. Please feel free to call the Town Clerk's office to confirm dates of availability at 617-993-2600.

For the 2014 Annual Town Election
Nomination papers for Annual Town Election (Town Meeting and Town-wide offices) will be available mid-December at the Town Clerk's Office, due back to the Town Clerk for certification by  (specified date) at 5 pm. 50 certified signatures of registered Belmont voters are required for Town-wide office, 25 certified signatures of Belmont registered voters dwelling in the appropriate precinct are required for Town Meeting. It is always wise to obtain and provide at least 20% more signatures than the requirement to meet the certification minimums.  Please see the Town Clerk's web page on Running for Elected Office.
