The Complete Access to Trails Assessment and Recommendation Maps and Documents Prepared by Pressley Associates are available at the Library and Community Development Office. It is anticipated that they will be on line via this web page sometime in fall of 2010.
The McLean Land Management Committee was created through the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Town and the McLean Hospital. This Agreement was signed in November of 1999 and outlined the development restrictions for the McLean hospital campus. It also reserved approximately 119 acres of the campus as publicly accessible open space, including a new municipal cemetery. The McLean Land Management Committee was appointed to establish and implement a land use and management plan for the land to be held under Conservation Restriction.
CURRENT UPDATE:
The committee has prepared a press release asking for ideas to potentially name the property, the trails, features and areas. We encourage folks to review the press release and submit their ideas.
Working groups of the McLean Land Management Committee are tasked with making recommendations to the full committee on Trails/Access/Signage, Regulations/Maintenance/Enforcement and User Survey.
Bid documents have been prepared to demolish the delapidated house located at 251 Mill Street to create a new identity entrance for the McLean Open Space property on Mill Street. This work is anticipated in Fall of 2010.
The McLean Land Management Committee (LMC) typically meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at a conference room in Town Hall. Agendas are posted. All are welcome.
